St. Stephen’s Joins Ecumenical Worship Service, Jan. 11

St. Stephen’s & the Vine Episcopal Church is one of five congregations participating in an ecumenical worship service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026.

Zion Lutheran Church in Ferguson is hosting the service. Along with St. Stephen’s & the Vine, clergy and members from Unity Lutheran in Bel-Nor, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran in Bridgeton, and Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Florissant will be gathering for this joint worship. The morning will be a celebration of Jesus’ Baptism and the unity we share in that sacrament.

Here are details for this community event:

  • The service will take place at Zion Lutheran Church, 123 Carson Road in Ferguson. The service will begin at 9:30 a.m.
  • Parking at Zion is available on the north side of the church building (off Clark Street), in the lower parking lot, accessible from the top lot or the entrance on Carson Road. You can also park in the lot across the street at Oak Knoll Care Center.
  • A combined choir anthem, led by Barb Klinsick of Unity, will sing an offertory piece, “Beside a Stream of Living Water.” The choir will rehears on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 9 a.m. at Zion and also Thursday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. at Unity. (Download music here)
  • The Rev. Dr. Teresa Danieley from St. Stephen’s will be preaching at the service and Deacon Loretta Go from St. Stephen’s will serve as Deacon.
  • All are welcome to stay after the service for a potluck lunch. Zion will provide sandwiches with toppings, chips and drinks. Visiting congregations are asked to bring a side dish or dessert item to share.

We encourage all our St. Stephen’s members to attend this gathering of North St. Louis County Christians Sunday, Jan. 11 at 9:30 a.m.! If you can’t attend in person, you can watch the service on Zion’s livestream on YouTube.
