I am pleased to share highlights from The SoulFisher Ministries ENAL Summer Initiative Program, a program that continues to make a positive impact on students and families throughout the Ferguson community.
For over ten years, The SoulFisher Ministries has had the privilege of operating our summer program at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, located at 33 North Clay Avenue, Ferguson, Missouri. Throughout this partnership, St. Stephen’s has graciously opened its doors to our students and staff, providing a welcoming environment where young people can learn, grow, and develop a heart for service.
One of the most meaningful aspects of our partnership has been the opportunity for students to volunteer in the church’s food pantry. Our students genuinely look forward to serving others and take great pride in helping distribute food and support community members in need. These experiences teach valuable lessons about compassion, responsibility, and the importance of giving back.
The kindness, generosity, and support shown by the members of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church have made a lasting impression on our program participants. The church has become more than just a location for our summer activities—it has become an extension of our community and a place where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to serve.
Through the ENAL Summer Initiative, students engage in academic enrichment, career exploration, character development, recreation, and community service activities. By combining learning opportunities with service projects, we aim to develop not only academic skills but also strong citizenship and leadership qualities.
The SoulFisher Ministries is deeply grateful for our long-standing partnership with St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. We appreciate the opportunity to work alongside such caring individuals who share our commitment to strengthening the community and investing in the next generation.
Together, we are helping young people discover that even small acts of service can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

“This is my last year with the Soulfishers, and I have a lot of mixed emotions. I have been in this program for eight years, and it has helped me grow into a better person. Even though I am sad that this chapter is ending, I am also thankful for all of the opportunities I have had. One of my favorite experiences was being a part of the Junior Leadership Program during the summer. It taught me responsibility, leadership, and how to help others. Being in that program made me feel happy, excited, and proud of myself. It also inspired me to want to come back one day as a part-time tutor so I can encourage and help other students the way my teachers and mentors helped me. I am very grateful for everything the Soulfishers program has done for me. I will always remember the lessons I learned, the friendships I made, and the people who believed in me. Thank you for helping me become the person I am today.”
